When automobile wiring harness passes through the hole, rubber parts are generally used for transition, so as to play the role of wear-resisting, waterproof and sealing. Mainly distributed in the following parts: engine and cab interface, front cabin and cab interface (a total of 2), four doors (or back door) and car interface, fuel tank entrance. The commonly used materials are natural rubber, neoprene, silicone rubber, EPDM and so on.
Characteristics of natural rubber: good elasticity and mechanical strength, excellent flexural resistance, high tear strength and good cold resistance. Disadvantages: poor aging resistance, oil and ozone resistance, flammable. The characteristics of neoprene rubber: ozone resistance, heat aging, oil resistance and other properties are good, with inflammability and self-extinguishing; But low temperature resistance is poor.
Characteristics of silicone rubber: heat resistance, cold resistance and weather resistance is good; The disadvantage is that it is not oil resistant. Epdm characteristics: weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance are good, and has high strength and high expansion rate; Disadvantages: poor adhesion, and elasticity is not good as natural rubber, poor oil resistance.
